Welcome to the MAZI Foundation website. Within the pages of www.mazi.org.cy we wish to inform and educate the public on the matters of eating disorders and obesity, but also to create a two-way communication platform between us.
The incidents of eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, bed) and obesity observed in Cyprus demonstrate an alarming increase, particularly amongst young women aged 15-25 years old. The absence of adequate scientific research for identifying and addressing the problem, the lack of infrastructure and sufficient training and ignorance of the public, create a dangerous scene.
With the Foundation's activities, we aspire to act as the catalyst that will create the conditions for sensitization and mobilization of initiatives both in the public and private sectors for optimal management of eating disorders and obesity in Cyprus. Our website aims to correctly inform, prevent and raise awareness around these issues.
